I was unable to be in attendance yesterday but I asked John Montri for a photo/update which he captured for us (scores above each player). It was a 4 man game and our all time HCF home run leader (no official stats but I'll swear by it) must have tagged a few. And, for the record, we all know Randy is a much better player than yesterday.

With the off day from Wiffle the Ground Crew did some cosmetic work as picker bushes make way for the tall grasses and shrubs.

Looks like a shortage of players so I'm going to plan on not playing and watch Wimbledon Women's Final. If the players can organize enough players last minute you are most welcome to play.
See you next week!

July 8 Game Results
In what may have been dubbed the Youth vs Seniors Contest it was pretty much one way traffic as the Scoreboard indicates (Please note that the '5' in the third inning really should be flipped and awarded to the Visitors as it may have been a case of the Senior Team trying to save some face with a bit of scoreboard sabotage. But, hey, we all had a great time. Some of the highlights:
-Abe hit his usual right hand batting homers but he also hit one left handed.
-Nick, up from Florida, was a pitchers nightmare as he creamed nearly everything and now owns the longest home run to right field. I swear I thought it was going to land on Dexter-Ann Arbor Road.
-Abe had the highlight reel catch leaping high in the air out in left field while making a one handed stab of Randy's should have been double.
-Batting right handed...that's right...I hit a grand slam homer to left center.
-Kartic keeps getting closer to his first homer as he had some distance on a few balls today, but, alas, no dice.
-Rich D. took Nick deep.

June 24 Game Results
Great game at HCF today as the Visitors pulled out a close one winning by two runs. Two homers for Abe, stellar pitching by John Miller, and quite a few hits by Amanda helped the visitors to victory.
Don't forget to check out facebook for other game details. Oh yeah, new twist, we run the bases in the 5th and 9th innings, now.

HCF welcomed back Daryl and his son Jackson and Russ, players who in the past have participated in wiffle games. It was great to see them, again, and Daryl did go yard in his first AB. Russ played just once last year and banged out like 7 homers but found the layoff a bit more challenging this time.
Highlight: It was fun watching the power of John L. firing bullets from the mound against Abe who is a huge long ball threat. Abe did take him downtown once and stroked at least one more....maybe more....home run before the day was over as the visitors broke it open in the 9th with a 7 spot.

Saturday, June 3 Wrap
Classic pitchers duel with John L. dealing for the visitors and the home team using a new pitcher each inning. It came down to two important moments:
1. Abe's triple in the 4th inning plating a run and
2. Amanda's catch of a vicious liner off the bat of Randy with the bases juiced and 2 out in the top of the 9th. Great catch, game over!
